A large delegation from Halkın Partisi, led by Party Chairman Kudret Özersay and comprising prospective parliamentary candidates, paid an official visit to the KTMMOB Chamber of Turkish Cypriot Architects.

During the meeting, discussions focused on public policies concerning disaster preparedness and risk reduction, as well as the role of architecture within the construction sector, environmental protection, urban regeneration, and the measures required to mitigate risks associated with earthquakes, fires, and other disasters.

Following the meeting, which provided an opportunity for mutual consultation and the exchange of views, Halkın Partisi Chairman Kudret Özersay expressed his appreciation for the Chamber of Architects’ proactive, well-prepared, and merit-based approach to matters within its professional jurisdiction. He stated:

“We also attach great importance to the timely implementation of measures based on established standards, particularly in relation to disasters in a rapidly changing world. We have the political will to put these measures into practice and stand ready to collaborate with the Chamber on these matters.”

As the Executive Board of the KTMMOB Chamber of Turkish Cypriot Architects, we will continue to engage with all political stakeholders visiting our Chamber throughout the electoral period, sharing our perspectives on the significance of architecture within the construction sector, our expectations for creating a high-quality and sustainable built environment, and our recommendations regarding architectural policies that should be developed and implemented by the government.
